I’m Well Connected

Yes. I’ve got my own special gang. And they’ve all even got special skills. Like if I need someone to slash some tires, Mikey’s my guy. If I need someone to get me out of paying a bill, Jenny Two Times is my gal. Put a little fear of God into someone? Supple & the Mad Irishman could probably make some folks quake in their boots with just a well timed look or eye brow raise. So, yeah. . . I’ve got peoples and those peoples got my back. Heh.

They aren’t just your people…they are COOL people. Sounds like you had a great weekend! I especially like your remark… “I love my life”… see? That’s what it is all about! That’s the best thing you can say… :)

Yeah, I’ve always loved the names of your peeps!

I wonder what I could do. I would protect you by drinking wine! That doesn’t sound very helpful. I’ll think of something.
Love that you have such a wonderful group of friends that are family.

I love the name Jenny Two Times!

Ha! I happen to be friends with an awful lot of Katies and Christys… this has lead to an AWFUL lot of nicknames, though mine (sadly) aren’t mobster at all… I’ll have to work on that!

I’ve occasionally referred to someone by their blog name in real life. People are like, “Who?” I usually just play it off and act like I said the wrong name :)

Great – so if I’m in your gang what do I do?
Am I the cook? The big softy? The guy with dough?
Wait… wait… maybe I’m the guy who ‘wraps things up’ (like a dumpling)?
I dunno… you tell me…
BTW – SJ and I will be there in two weeks!

sue- i DO love my life. and yeah, my peeps are pretty awesome.
rosalish- thanks! some of them would like their name changed but too bad. heh.
kris- you could be my “enabler” and ply me with booze. that’d be sweet!
lvgurl- it’s a good one, isn’t it?
bre- so what kind of nicknames are they then?
bone- that’s funny!
mr. rodacre/dumpling- i think you’d be great at “wrapping things up” cuz you know i’m a great starter and a poor finisher. i can’t wait for you and SJ to come here!! yippee!!

It’s great to have people and even greater to have them have your back! My people all have nicknames, I remember back in the day when still in high school my sister’s boyfriend use to tease me because of the “names” of my friends: Goyo, Pelusa, Enano, Chino, El Parcha, etc…

I cannot believe that I’ve just now noticed how “mobster” all those names really are. Wow.
Comment by justrun — September 4, 2007 #

hahahaha :)

It takes a village….seriously? I’m throwing a party for my village next month. YIPEE!
I might be the only single girl their in a crowd of married couples, but THEY’RE MY PEOPLE. I’d have died without them.

esmeralda- you gots to celebrate your peoples. i agree!
dawn- i know, totally. she’s so not a mobster though.
jenny two times- you’re known for more than that!
justrun- i made a list of all my friend’s and their nicknames. it’s true, i’ve got a mob.
jen- i think having a nickname sort of says, “s/he’s one of my people. we’re tight.” and i like being tight with people.

I’ve always gotten a kick out of the nicknames you’ve given your friends. I think it’s very special.
