Delayed Reactions

Co-worker: Did you get your hair cut?
Me: Yeah, last Thursday.
Co-worker: Oh! Well it looks great.
*********
Later that same day. . .
Co-worker 2: Did you do something different with your hair?
Me: Yeah, I cut it last week.
Co-worker 2: Huh, last week? Well I like it!
*********
Then Tuesday. . . .
Co-worker 3: I like your hair today.
Me: Thanks! It’s called “bed head.”
Co-worker 3: I use that stuff too! Mine comes in a jar. . .
Me: No, I mean, I woke up with this hair.
Co-worker 3: Lucky!
(For the record, it doesn’t look that different except I am wearing it messier than usual.)

You look damn fine, Sizz!
Comment by whoorl — September 26, 2007 #
Oh you just made me even more excited to cut my hair!
Comment by justrun — September 26, 2007 #
What happened to your hair?
Oh, you had it cut?
Hmmm.
Uh.
It’s interesting.
Comment by Lefty — September 26, 2007 #
Maybe they were distracted by that super cool jacket you’re wearing. Seriously, your hair always looks so cool, and an awesome jacket can overshadow subtle nuances of coolness. It’s been known to happen.
That’s my theory anyways.
Comment by N to the P — September 26, 2007 #
bully- why thank you kindly! i’ll take a reaction, delayed or not.
whoorl- celebrity appearance by the one and only whoorl! of course you’d come by when i am talking about hair. ;)
justrun- how are you going to cut it? i need deets!
lefty- um. what are you trying to say? :)
n to the p- i’ve had that jacket for at least 8 years but couldn’t really wear it because it was too small. it sort of buttons now and i am superduper glad i kept it.

You look good when you crawl outta bed??
That’s just not fair, nor is it right Sizzle.
Comment by Josie — September 26, 2007 #
Told you the hair made all the difference!
Comment by Ruby — September 26, 2007 #
I have that too. I flip my part one way and all of a sudden you can see I have highlights in my hair.
Comment by Eileen Dover — September 26, 2007 #
Is it possible that all of the coworkers were men? Sometimes they can be slow to notice these things.
Comment by Jennifer — September 26, 2007 #
I frequently get “did you cut your hair?” and “did you color your hair?” when I’ve done nothing of the sort.
My response is usually that my hair seems to have a personality all its own!
Comment by diane — September 26, 2007 #
I want to be able to wow co-workers with my hair that easily!
Comment by TC — September 26, 2007 #
josie- not every day! and it’s really just my hair we are talking about. sincerely.
ruby- you did! you were SO right. ;)
eileen- you’re so versatile and sexy. rawr!
jennifer- i work at a non-profit so men are scarce here but now that you mention it…two of the comments were from men! heh.
diane- it’d figure your hair would try to keep up with your actual personality. :)
tc- we’re generally low key around here so it is easy to wow people. heehee.

I kinda don’t know how to feel about the fact that I got that last part. I’ve seen Bed Head products on my tub before.
Comment by Bone — September 26, 2007 #
well it looks fab!
Comment by Jen — September 26, 2007 #
It looks wonderful.
I’d just be tickled if someone noticed there was a change – even days later! I usually have to point it out to Hubs. ;)
Comment by sue — September 26, 2007 #
Hehehe it’s days like that that make me ask myself why I bother even trying ;)
Comment by Ys — September 26, 2007 #
Uber cute, nicely done Sizzle!
Comment by Kyla Bea — September 26, 2007 #
See how one good hair day makes all the difference?
Comment by scarlet hip — September 26, 2007 #
bone- you’re so hip!
jen- why thanks!
sue- it’s really not that different. i’m surprised anyone noticed. :)
ys- i am just glad they don’t tell me it looks like crap on the days i am having a bad hair day.
kyla- thanks so much!
scarlet- it really can. a good hair day can change my whole attitude. it’s kind of sad when i say that aloud…ha.
Comment by sizzlesays — September 26, 2007 #
sorry, i have a “delayed reaction” to this post! i love your hair! and i also love your jacket!
Comment by brookem — September 26, 2007 #
don’t you just love new haircuts? they make you feel like a new person! it sucks that there was a delayed reaction from your co-workers though. I am lucky enough to have a bunch of girl co-workers that recognize ANYTHING that is new. New shoes? New shirt? New necklace? fun!
Comment by Megan — September 26, 2007 #
So you look like that straight out of bed?! I’m not sure I can be your blog buddy anymore…I might have to hate you.
Comment by Dawn — September 26, 2007 #
You always have cute hair! And don’t you love Colbie?
Comment by Long Story Longer — September 26, 2007 #
You look so awesome girl!!!
Comment by aimee/greeblemonkey — September 26, 2007 #
Looks great! I just cut my hair short and am so happy that I’m no longer wasting my life doing the 30 minute routine of drying and flat-ironing every morning before work! It’s awesome…
Comment by Brrrr — September 26, 2007 #
The hair is supper sassy. I am a little jealous that you wake up with that good looking of hair, lucky girl!
Comment by andrea — September 26, 2007 #
brookem- my jacket is getting almost as many props as my hair. haha.
megan- new haircuts = new attitude, for sure. and girls are good for that sort of thing.
dawn- oh nonono! i do not look like that when i get out of bed. trust me! still blog buddies?
lsl- aww thanks! and that’s the only colbie song i know.
aimee- shucks!
brrrr- yay short hair!
andrea- thank you kindly. it doesn’t always work out that it looks good. some days i just want to wear a hat.
Comment by sizzlesays — September 26, 2007 #
It looks great! Seems like hair change is in the air…
Comment by 180/360 — September 26, 2007 #
looking hawt!! :D
Comment by Lisa — September 27, 2007 #
Love the hair.
I am in a hair crisis. Time for change. Wish I had your guts to go with something so cute.
Comment by AppleTree — September 27, 2007 #
That’s better than when someone who has no filter on their mouth says something like “oh my god, what did you DO to your hair?!?!?!!”
Then you slap them and say “oh my god, what happened to your FACE?!?!?!?”
Comment by Wayne — September 27, 2007 #
180/360- hair grows, change is good. that’s what a former hair dresser used to tell me.
lisa- thanks! :)
appletree- be bold! may i suggest submitting your photo to whoorl for her hair thursdays? many women have had life changing hair experiences over there on her site!
wayne- now that’s a comeback. heh!
Comment by sizzlesays — September 27, 2007 #
Nice doo sizz!
Short hair has recently grown on me (no pun intended). It may be that way because my daughter just got her hair cut pretty short (in a Bob-style) and it looks really adorable on her.
Include pics with new doo and glasses please and thank you!
Comment by Tobiwan — September 27, 2007 #
ha, i use the product bed hair too – have for years… just wish it wasn’t so expensive! :-o
and love the cut – sometimes people comment on mine and sometimes they don’t… maybe they’re just used to me changing all the time, that they can’t remember… ha! :o)
Comment by blue eyes — September 27, 2007 #
That happens to me all the time — people will notice that I did something to my hair like a week or so after the fact. I’m so jealous that you can sleep on your hair and it still looks great. I have cowlicks that pop up and my hair’s so fine that it looks greasy so if I take a night shower, I have to ponytail it.
Comment by Becky — September 27, 2007 #
i always get compliments on my hair when it’s dirty and flat.
some people haven’t even noticed that i’ve chopped mine off or they just don’t like it and don’t want to comment.
whatever.
you hair always looks suppa fine!
Comment by gorillabuns — September 27, 2007 #
I have to say I get the same thing too.
Could I put your link on my blog? I like reading your blog. thank you.
