I found what I was looking for.*

A new dawn. A new day.

“Time it was and what a time it was…/A time of innocence, a time of confidences./Long ago it must be, I have a photograph/Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you.” -Bookends, Simon & Garfunkel

*More on that tomorrow. Today, I have to face returning to work after two glorious weeks off. Hold me?

  1. I’ll hold you if you hold me!! I don’t want to go back either. I love my job, but it was so warm and snuggly under my blankets this morning. *sigh*

  2. My kids going back to school today was AWFUL for me (and probably for them too, but it’s all about me in this comment, right?) I am so sorry you have to go back. Hope it is a great day!

  3. Rats! Someone beat me to it!

    “That’s TOTALLY from Goonies!”

High Fives for the hit of nostalgia, Sizz.
Low Fives for returning to work…ever.

  4. You went to my favorite Oregon Beach ever. Did you stay anywhere good? Glad you had a good time. The return to work was painful after just a three day weekend… I imagine it was hell after 2 weeks off! (But maybe you don’t get yelled at regularly from your boss- why do I work here?)

  5. Reading those lyrics gives me the chills almost as quickly as hearing the song. They are haunting in most beautiful way possible.

I had a friend who named their dog Chester Copperpot. I thought that was very clever of them.

  6. I’ve got Michael Buble in my head now…

    It’s a new dawn
    It’s a new day
    It’s a new life for me…
    And I’m feelin’ good.

  7. The Goonies!! Love that movie. Such a pretty picture. So dark and gloomy, yet so pretty. I hope your first day back to work was painless!

  8. Oh shit, Simon & Garfunkel almost always makes me cry. LAME.
Love the pictures. Maybe I need to take a trip to the beach…hmmm…

  9. I just LURVED all of the photos from your trip – Gorgeous, Darling! I am jealous (speaking from a land-locked state). I hope you had fun!

  10. I didn’t take any continuous time off, and I’m quite sure my jealousy is seeping through the monitor. I don’t envy you having to jump back into work after such a long break though, my dear. Hope the water wasn’t too cold. 🙂

  11. I have yet to go through a single day since our trip without having to fight the urge to run back to our cottage on the coast. Such a great! weekend, that was.
