Pinteractive 2 (plus winner announced)

I got pinteractive.

Maybe you’re asking me: How did you find the time?! You had to work all day Saturday on your fundraiser and you needed to get in a workout so you wouldn’t hurt anyone and you went house hunting even though you proclaimed you were holding off on that until April?!

The easiest answer is: I lied.

But the truth is: When I am busy the answer for me is to not find relaxation pockets of time but rather to just keep doing. I’m like a machine. Once I’m on a roll, don’t stop me. I’ll crash at the end of it all. So basically, come Wednesday, I’ll be crumpled under my sheets.

One of my favorite parts of the week is Sunday morning. Mr. Darcy is snoring away, the cats are fed, and I’m all alone in the quiet. I make a cup of tea, maybe light some candles, and get on Pinterest to find some recipes I want to try out. Since the next two days are going to be nutty for me, I figure it’d be smart to prep some meals so I don’t get stuck eating a crappy burger like I did Saturday night.

I have heard many people sing the praises of this spaghetti sauce. With 5 tbsps of butter, I can see why it might be tasty. I figured since I had the butter, tomatoes, and onion, why not? Making pasta is a quick after work thing to do and bonus, Mr. Darcy will devour any carb.

So I made  “The Best Ever Tomato Sauce In the World!” and it was. . .just okay. I mean it is tasty but not life changing. Mr. Darcy loved it. I guess I’m just more of a pesto girl.

I also tried out a new method for hard boiled eggs. But instead of boiling them, you bake them. Do I now have to call them baked eggs? It doesn’t really connote the same thing, does it?  You basically cook them for 30 minutes at 325 degrees then plunge them in ice cold water. When I make hard boiled eggs on the stove top I inevitably forget that they are boiling and they crack. This method seemed full proof.

Alton Brown’s baked eggs recipe is genius. But would we expect less from him?

Last week I made these no bake chocolate & peanut butter oatmeal bars but it turned out kind of odd even though it tasted good. I don’t think I would make it again.

I whipped up some blondies too because we had chocolate chips lying around and I’m attempting to clear our pantry of anything sugary for my upcoming cleanse (more on that later). I wanted to bring in a sweet treat for my co-workers who are going to be slaving away with me on pre-fundraiser madness. 1100 name tags in alpha order? No problem when fueled by sweet carbs. I might have over-cooked them but they still taste good.

And in case you thought I forgot: The winner of the pretty things give away is. . .NANETTE!

I used random number generator and it gave me comment #16 which is Nanette’s. How totally coinky-dinky that it should pull her since she is the creator of the Pinteractive movement? It’s a sign from the Universe.

Thanks for entering everyone. I wish I could give each of your a pretty thing. You deserve it!
