Can someone please explain why on God’s green earth someone doesn’t tell Ms. Couric that she wears too much mascara and eyeliner and that her lips shouldn’t be lined outside of the natural lip shape? Doesn’t she have people around her that are paid to make her look good?
I feel like all that make up just makes her eyes look even smaller and like she is Tammy Faye Baker’s long lost sister.
See how she cries because she knows, deep down inside, that her make up looks awful. It’s so sad when bad make up happens to good women. Get this woman a tissue and some cold cream, stat!

yea, she does look like a showgirl sometimes, where’s the feathers and jeweled bikini? i have to say, i wasn’t sure how her replacement, meredith, would be on the today show but i love her… its like she’s always been matt’s partner in crime and that’s pretty cool to watch (i only watch in the am when i’m getting ready for work)… i mean, if she can laugh about falling on her head, on the ice, with will ferrell – then she must be a pretty cool person… or just plain crazy, either is fine with me… :o)
Oh. My. God. I haven’t watched the Today show in over a year, and Katie Couric is getting OLD! Holy cow, time for a facelift, sister!
She has those short, stubby eyelashes that need tons of mascara to even be seen.
Why don’t they just put some fake ones on that are just a bit longer?
Her lips are quite thin so I can understand why the line it on the outside. But it does look like crap.
Ms. Couric, you might want to look into a smidge of collagen.
Oh, even when I did watch Today, I wondered why the hell her make-up artist put those dark berry colours on her lips.
Clearly, her complexion is not suited to dark boysenberry or plum colours. She looks like she bit into some poor unsuspecting man and sucked the blood from him.
… Or perhaps she did…
Isn’t Katie like America’s darling or something? But yeah, from this picture, looks like she’s on the road to Tammyfayeville with a full tank of mascara.
She looks completely frightening.
They do have people to help her look pretty. It’s just a lost cause. 😉

Perhaps some intense sessions in the tanning booth would help add to the wrinkled mess she’s trying to cover up with all that lip liner. I hear it looks better if you go a whole inch outside of your natural lip line. Someone please tell her primping crew that lighting eye liner with a lighter went out in the 80’s. That will be all.

How insightful.. you are SO right. I never thought of it this way. If it keeps going like this, sometime in 2011 they’ll be able to replace Katie with Mimi Bobeck from the “Drew Carey Show”, and nobody will know the difference at all!

I saw some photos of Katie Couric a few weeks ago and she totally looked like she’d just had a face lift or some major work done. I hardly recognized her. But yes, that mascara is out of control!

You’re so right — way too much mascara, and it’s too black. In years past, I think she did do the collagen injections, and it made her mouth look worse. So, I guess all she can do is the line outside of her natural lip line, which is barely there.
Why is it that as people get older their lips disappear? Freakish.

OH MY, just had to comment. LOL! I knew Tammy Faye was coming before I even started reading. Poor Katie. I have *always* thought she was in need of a makeup intervention.

She is starting to show her age, and even though I admire her for not getting plastic surgery, there has to be a better way to do her make-up to not accentuate her lines.
She should have never left the Today show!
i heard a rumor that she said if the ratings don’t pick up where she is…. she’s quitting in the fall.
